OUR COLLECTION

DeGymnas displays an overview of old gymnastics equipment such as an all-wood men's parallel bars from 1900, a balance beam from 1910, metal rings covered with leather from 1880, a horse with leather pommels and a bent end from 1895.

In addition to classic gymnastics equipment, DeGymnas displays several small and large objects such as books, photographs, posters, flags and authentic trophies, which are an inseparable part of our sport. In this way, you get a better understanding of how our sport of gymnastics has grown.

On display in “The Olympic Dressing” are original clothes worn by Belgian Olympic gymnasts such as Dennis Goossens (Rio 2016), Nina Derwael (Rio 2016), Koen Van Damme (Beijing 2008), Sigrid Persoon (Sydney 2000), Sarina Roberti (Los Angeles 1984), Lieve Brys (Rome 1960).

A separate rack holds the jury costumes of our international judges Leona Daveloose, Alain Coussement, Joeri De Jonghe and Marleen Van Dooren who judged at Olympic Games in Barcelona 1992, Athens 2004, Beijing 2008, London 2012, Rio 2016, Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024.
